happy times in magical places

There is a dessert in British Columbia... and we went there.
Among the green hills filled with grape vine and apple trees, there lies a dry-shrub grassland referred to as a desert. This magical little piece of land is known as Canada's pocket desert. Oh if I could only put it in my pocket and take it with me. :) Though not exactly like the deserts we are all familiar with, it is really not all that different. And it is one of Canada’s most fragile and endangered ecosystems, according to the Osoyoos Desert Society.

We walked along the boardwalk they had built many years ago. Most of the animals of this desert were hiding away from the heat, but there were so many interesting little plants and ground coverings. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and shared many tidbits of information with our small group.

And without doubt, there were the most beautiful views in all directions.
Make sure you visit here one day, if you are driving through.
