autumn comes early

Autumn comes early to my part of the world. Lucky... I guess you might say. And yes, we are. But with an early Autumn, comes an early end. And we enter that in between time, where the leaves have all fallen and the temperature has chilled, but the snow has yet to arrive. A different kind of season, really.

So yes, Autumn... Fall... this most perfect time of the year does not last long here.
Every moment, as fleeting as it is, means so very much.

How beautifully leaves grow old.  How full of light and color are their last days.

Paths are starting to fill with a blanket of crispy leaves.
A walk to the river is now accompanied by the music of nature beneath your feet.

And as the sun falls and the light hits the trees a certain way, the colours make themselves be known.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

The yellow leaves, off of those massive poplar trees, are always the first to fall.

And the grasses are beginning to dry and turn as well. Though the green is hanging on.

And we will take in these moments... breath them in like air.
And enjoy this season that is ever too short. The most lovely of them all...
