late afternoon sun

Don't you love the way it hangs so low in the sky... shining brightly on unexpected places while casting magical shadows over others.

"Just think about what could be in there Mom", J said with wonder in his voice. What could be lurking in these long shadows over the still half frozen river?

Just down the path the sun shines brightly as if the day were just beginning...

then moments later peeks from behind the trees... telling us it is time to head home.

I do love that late afternoon sun.

Nice photos. The 3rd picture reminds me of the "Old Steel Bridge" over the Flathead River, that was torn down a couple of years ago. Your outdoor photos remind me a lot of here in NW Montana. I'm following your blog now. Would you please consider following mine?
