a boy and a bike

“The hardest part of raising a child is teaching them to ride bicycles. A shaky child on a bicycle for the first time needs both support and freedom. The realization that this is what the child will always need can hit hard.” ~ Sloan Wilson

My son learned to ride a bike without training wheels. He learned so quickly... with such ease... that I did not even get a chance to take a picture. Just like that... he was off.

And we watched.

It may sound odd... but I wish that he would have needed us just a little more.

But how proud we are.

Here he is on our first big bike ride without the training wheels. Such a big boy already.

Sigh. :)
